Julianne Moore to get Truffaut Award just like Kiarostami

US Oscar winning actress,Julianne Moore is to get Italian Giffoni Film Festival's ‘Truffaut Award’ this summer.

Following suit of Iran mega director Abbas Kiarostami, US actress Julianne Moore is to receive Truffaut Award at Giffoni Filmfest in Italy.

The actress is due to go to Italy to be awarded with the Francois Truffaut Award at the Italian fest on July 16, 2017.

The Giffoni is one of the largest film festivals dedicated to children and teenagers. Thousands of young people come from all over the world to learn about filmmaking and judge films on special juries, while meeting international stars.

The Francois Truffaut award has been granted at the fest since 1988. Past recipients include Bud Spencer, Jeremy Irons and Iran mega director Abbas Kiarostami.

The American Oscar and Golden Globe winning actress Julianne Moore is known for her work in films such as ‘Still Alice’ (2014) and ‘Far From Heaven’ (2002).

Moore has received a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her work in ‘Game Change’ (2012) and an additional special ensemble ‘Golden Globe’ for her role in ‘Short Cuts’ (1994).

The 47th Giffoni Film Festival takes place July 14-22 in Italy.
